“With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?”Oscar Wilde
You can always tell on our book shelf, which book belongs to who…
Bello says he treats his books “with respect”. He really does…they are contacted, the pages have no creases and Bello’s page turning is something of an art- only ever comprised of acute angles. Pretty much, Bello’s books have that botoxed-forever-young look after spending years on our shelves.
My books. Well. I don’t believe in reading something you don’t understand, so I write and highlight and make notes. When I’m involved with a book, it comes along everywhere. The pages are well loved. My obtuse page turning habits and excursions from bath-tub to coffee table has left my books full of laugh lines and proud roschardt ink blotch-esque splatter patterns (in mediums of coffee, cake ganache, spaghetti sauce and bubble detergent).
Our friend has once told us we are like two nutty professors on opposite ends of a nerd spectrum. We took that as a compliment.
